Multiple versions of IE

In previous article I've written about one of many IE6 problems, PNG transparency issues and mentioned how it's necessary to have IE6 for testing etc, if you are CSS coder. On the other hand it's very necessary to have IE7 too, and because of that more and more people are asking me how to have multiple versions of IE on one PC. For this problem I'm using MultipleIE program from TredoSoft and it helped me a lot in my work so i wanted to introduce you to it in this article.

Multiple IE

MultipleIE is light and powerful program where you get IE3 IE4.01 IE5 IE5.5 and IE6 on one PC up and running in same time. You can download it directly here. During installation you can choose what IE versions you would like to have, and later on just download IE7 from Microsoft site you'll be surprised but many people doesn't know that IE7 is free of course. Only problem with MultipleIE is that it doesn't work on Vista for now, but it's being taken care of.

  1. Good article, thanks for sharing, I had to use two laptops for IE6 and IE7 for testing and this will help me a lot

  4. I’ve found that MultiIE isn’t always reliable when rendering pages, it produces CSS bugs that when viewed in real IE aren’t there. It also has big problems with Flash.

Best option is to either run VMWare with real IE’s installed or just install/uninstall the IE7 Update (IE6 is the base in XP).

    @ John Schires
I haven’t noticed any differences in rendering so thanks for letting us know. The problem just might be in versions of IE6, but yet again i don’t think there can be large differences

You can download IE 6 virtual compatibility image for free on microsofts website. You’ll need Microsofts virtual machine, but that is free too.

I don’t feel the need to check compatibility with older versions of ie other than 6.

  15. Initially you can focus on the top 10 search results (some of them will be individual
profiles; others will lead you to a category of professionals).
While at the Metro PCS Service Terminal that looks like an ATM machine,
you will notice that it asks you to enter a phone
number. However, as an element of search engine marketing, this phase usually refers to the development
or redevelopment of an entire website with data-driven conversion optimisation techniques
    in mind.
