Don't know if it's just me but this WP 2.5 interface sucks. Colors are ok, but really it's so badly organized and this is the zillion time i have deleted 25 good comments instead spam ones.

1. How i can exclude pages and some category from search results? Is there a way?
2. I'm using the_excerpt() function for get posts on homepage. How i change "[...]" chars to "Read More" link (this is screenshot and description about this question: http://screencast.com/t/okTeJtEjW)?
3. I'm using this codes for display page title. But i want to check bloginfo("description"); and bloginfo("name"); functions. If this functions returns nothing i will display something different title. How i can do this?

Wordpress Author Template Problem

I'm using author template (author.php) for display each author posts. I'm using "query_posts("&cat=-5");" code snippet for exclude a category.

But if i use this snippet author template isn't working. So it's displaying all author with own posts (in example: http://www.sinemalardan.com/author/admin/ -it's will be display other author's post).

To JavaScript or Not to JavaScript! That is the Question...

Back when I first started designing web sites I looked into JavaScript. At the time it was clunky and not very common. From what I heard, many internet users would even disable JavaScript.
However, with JavaScript libraries like jQuery, MooTools, and the others - JavaScript in web design is much more practical, effective, and common. (Apple.com for example)

I am planning out a new web job (and two re-design's of my web sites) and may use some JavaScript based sliders in the design.
They would de-clutter the pages, make several key sub-pages easier to navigate, and add a professional feel to the web site.

So I just wanted some of y'all's views on using (or not using) JavaScript.
Is it worth it? Do I have to worry about visitor's having JavaScript disabled?

The Latest stable version of WordPress (2.6.1) is out and you can download it at official wordpress org site. Why is this important, well when a complete new version comes out it's always good to wait for next one with fixed bugs etc.

A flaw in the reset token validation mechanism allows for non-validating tokens to be forged. This will allow an unauthenticated, unauthorized user to reset the password of the first enabled user (lowest id). Typically, this is an administrator user. Note, that changing the first users username may lessen the impact of this exploit (since the person who changed the password does not know the login associated with the new password). However, the only way to completely rectify the issue is to upgrade to 1.5.6 (or patch the /components/com_user/models/reset.php file).
